Colleen Kelly is from the Wilunyu and Southern Yamaji peoples of Mid West Western Australia. She is a Registered Nurse with post graduate and masters qualification in emergency nursing. More recently she has studied and worked in the area of Indigenous health and Indigenous leadership. Colleen is a Lecturer in the Gukwonderuk Indigenous unit of Monash University, Melbourne. She is currently working in the area of teaching and learning of Indigenous health curriculum. Colleen is particularly interested in influencing the health system so the perspectives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples can be privileged. Her aim is to help educate health care graduates who are culturally capable and able to work in partnership with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to ensure the best possible health outcomes.
